Rosalie Plantation

Rosalie Plantation
Above is a link about this Plantation so you can read more about it!

We had a wonderful time here. This plantation was espically nice because it had all the orginal furniture in it.

David and Mr D had fun picking up pecans before we went in for our tour.

I really enjoyed the tour guides at this house. They knew so much and was very personal.
A funny story they told us was the owner of this house had some friends and they passed away and he promised to take care of their 14 year old daughter. He didn't know what to do with a 14 year old so he married her! :)

The red furniture was so beautiful!

My favorite room of the house.

Look how small this lady was.

Longwood

Longwood Plantation= my 2nd favorite one!
I really enjoyed seeing this one. Everyone told me this was a must see and they where surely right.
The link below tells alittle bit more about the plantation.

what a beautiful view.

Looking up from the second floor

This was some of the unfinished work. Our tour guide told us that when the war broke out the workers left everything. Later some people did move it to other areas of the house. Easier to tour I guess.

This was out in the barn.

David said this was kissing moss :)

We visited the day before Halloween. The weekend before they had a carnival for the local kids. Thats why it is decorated.

Just a funny side note (alteast to me) My hubby told me that they filmed a vampire show here right as we are pulling up. If anyone is reading this and actually know me I am a big baby and get scared easily. Well, I told my hubby that if I heard anything I was gonna take off running because...well thats what I do.
So low and behold my hubby, mom and step dad are still trying to spook me but I am not letting them get to me because I was trying to enjoy my time and I knew they where just playing around. So we start to head back to the car from the barn and some how David trips in the rocks.....WELL....lets just say I didn't help him up! I took off running!!! No Lie....it was a sight..alteast they said it was. My heart was just a pumping. I don't know where I was going but I was gonna get the heck out of here! LOL

But all in all I had a blast!!!

It surely is a must see :)

11-11-10

I am having a hard time coming up with blog names. So today it will just be the date. :)

I've been having a few hectic weeks lately. Stress, moving, etc. Yesterday it really got to me and I thought I was gonna blow. I kind of did in my own way but luckly it was just me that saw it. It was more or less a hot bubble bath and some crying but you get the picture.

Well, I normal do not blog about my MawMaw but today I am going to just a tiny bit. I lived with my MawMaw alot of my child hood. I miss her very much. She passed away 8 years ago this Dec. It has been a long 8 years thats for sure. Mostly good. Sad when I think about her. I have a a card she gave me that places music. She wrote in it when ever you are feeling sad just open this up and think of me. Of course everytime I open it, it brings an instant smile to my face.
I pray all the time that I could just dream about her. I have never dreamed about her. NEVER! Well last night, I DID! It was short, but I was my age and she looked like the very last time I saw her right before heading back to Ft Carson, Co. I won't go into any more details but God sure has a way of showing this to people and I am one blessed girl.

P.S. Mom,Dad or Day if you are reading this I am in need of a canon camera! LOL They sell it at best buy :)

Our anniversary trip-Monmouth

Well I have been trying to blog about our trip now for a week! I really wish my photo uploader would work. :(
I am able to upload a few but not all of them and this is really getting frustrating.

Day 1

We got up bright and early Friday morning and  drove to Nachez. We arrived super early so we drove around to get our barings on the town. It was a layed back day. We ate lunch and at really good Mexican place but I can't remember the name.

Finally it was time to check in. Our room was beautiful and so was the grounds and house. When we checked in a man that worked there told us about a really good steak house that was haunted and knowing David and my Mother (they went for their anniversary too) we had to go. I was scared the whole night. If you know me I don't like scary stuff.

                                 The King's Tavern

I did not like it at all. I didn't like the food. The darkness. NOTHING!
It just wasn't my cup of tea,ya know!

I only got 3 pictures to upload so I am not to happy right now with Blogger. I really wanted to do a day by day/house by house blog for each one.
ah......

I am gonna try again later I guess

Till next time, Valerie
